‘Abusive anti-Israel bias at UN is pathetic’ states US Ambassador Nikki Haley.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley spoke on Wednesday night at a Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD) conference. “What we should do is, the countries that we give money to, do they believe what we believe?” she said. “Are they still actually wanting to be our partner and work with us? If they’re not and they’re shouting, ‘Death to America,’ why would we give them a single penny? And so you are seeing the efforts of de-funding those things that are not helpful to us and that aren’t in the United States’ interest.”

Regarding the UN bias against Israel, Haley said, “I knew that there was a bias against Israel, but I hadn’t really put a lot of thought into it, until I attended the first session. And when I saw literally how abusive all of those countries were being to Israel, in a way that was pathetic – really I had no choice but to get up and say this is completely wrong.”

One year after Harvey, Israelis still aid Texas, Caribbean

Harvey, Irma, Maria, José and Nate will forever be names associated with the catastrophic 2017 Atlantic hurricane season. One year later, millions of people from Texas to the Caribbean still suffer physical and psychological fallout from those disastrous weather events.

At the time, Israelis from IsraAID, Magen David Adom, Dream Doctors, ZAKA, the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC), the Jewish Agency, and United Hatzalah/Israel Rescue Coalition sent help in various capacities, including cleanup, search-and-rescue and trauma care.

With hurricane season now on the go again, ISRAEL21c looks at two organizations — IsraAID and the ITC – who have stayed in the region to continue healing wounds and preparing residents for the next big storm. Texans have been supported through the efforts of Niv Rabino, Texas head of mission for IsraAID, who has been in Houston since Hurricane Harvey. Harvey hit the area on August 25, 2017.

And the islands of Dominica and Puerto Rico have seen Israeli and partners from various countries stay with them through the rebuilding process. Since the islands are highly vulnerable every hurricane season, IsraAID and partner organizations launched long-term projects to improve disaster response and community sustainability.

“One local woman said to me, ‘I had no idea who IsraAID was and I have no idea how you found us on the map but I’m so glad you’re here,’” reports Haley Broder, an IsraAid director of mission. “Everyone is very grateful.”   READ MORE…

Pro-Israel groups march to Union Buildings in SA

A beautiful and impressive turnout for Israel happened in South Africa this past month. A country that has seen an increase in racism, anti-semitism, and hatred of Israel using alleged apartheid as the reason. Pretoria streets were painted blue and white with Israeli flags and placards raised high as South Africans came out to be heard.

Hundreds of members of the South Africans Friends of Israel, political parties and Christian groups among others dedicated their day to march and deliver their petition at the Union Buildings and also pray for the South African government to have good relations with Israel.

Protesters waved their placards high and unlike other marches where protesters sing struggle songs, these ones are singing hymns and gospel songs.

“Not in God’s name”, “Send SA ambassador back to Israel”, “No to downgrade” and “I will bless those who bless you and curse him that curses” are some of the messages written on the placards.

The march and prayer gathering comes after the country recalled the SA ambassador from Israel as a result of the killings of Palestinians at the Gaza border in May.

Meshoe said he was there to make the ANC know that they had made a big mistake by allowing the downgrade of the South African embassy in Israel to happen.  READ MORE…
