Israel, nicknamed the “Start Up Nation“, has the highest per-capita number of start-ups in the world! These start-ups run in a variety of fields but today we will pinpoint top safety apps made by Israelis helping the world! “To save a life is to save the world” ~ Talmud

Musketeer: A cell-phone app utilizing one’s own peer network for help on-demand during critical moments. It is a social safety network that allows normal civilians to aid those around them and ultimately safe lives. It aims to compliment state emergency services and act a a booster to help those around us until medical help arrives. In addition smart cities are using the app to collect data on emergency services in order to improve their own infrastructure and build stronger cities. Its features range from things as simple as help finding a lost child, medical emergencies, to help walking to one’s car late at night. The app’s algorithm is able to send out the message for help to relevant nearby users finding the right help-faster.

Mobileye: Mobileye is a world leader is advanced driver assistance. Its’s technology identifies and alerts drivers to potential hazards in real-time. It uses AI, crowd sourcing, and deep learning to stay up to date and relevant to keep the roads a safer place. Besides their technology to avoid traffic accidents, they also hold technology making autonomous cars safer on the road. It uses a variety of sensors to judge distances from other vehicles on the road, irregular behavior patters, and even animals or people crossing the street. Their technology has been embedded in almost every new car made since its release and is being added to most cars by drivers wanting to make the roads less dangerous and to avoid human error.

PerSys “Israeli bandage”: This bandage was invented by an Israeli medic and is used to stop the bleeding from major wounds in traumatic situations. It is utilized by military, civilian emergency response teams, law enforcement, and hospitals around the world. The bandage controls hemorrhage and applies 3x the pressure of a normal bandage to the wound and has been attributed to saving hundreds of lives.

Prepex: This device is the world’s only non-surgical male circumcision device approved by the World Health Organization. There is a plethora of medical evidence showing circumcision lowers the risk of HIV by 60%. This device makes the procedure, easier, cheaper, less invasive, and more available to all. It is being used in 13+ countries today to lower risks. The company hopes to contribute to the global fight against AIDS in a significant way.

SkySaver: This pre-installed device is making homes and building easier and safer to vacate quickly in the case of a fire. It is essentially a backpack that hooks into clips pre-installed on a designated wall that allows users to rappel out of a dangerous situation. It uses a friction-based mechanism to slow the descent to the ground and can carry one adult + child per pack. Inspired by 9/11 when many civilians were trapped in the towers, they set out to help residents escape high rises should fire break out.
